The quickest way to get to Stormwind is to create a human toon.
Here's a simple diagram of how to get there. I know I'd be totally lost if I had to get to some place in Under City.

Heh, Undercity is easy. Thunder Bluff is a nightmare. Cool to walk around in, but hopeless for finding that one specific NPC.
